QUAKER'S BONNET

Double primrose 'Quaker's Bonnet' or 'Lilacena plena'.

A very old pale lilac double primrose. One of the original four double varieties used by Florence Bellis in her breeding programme. Don’t expect a neat supermarket double – it’s rather unruly and not very tidy, but flowers abundantly and occasionally has pollen if you want to try your hand at breeding.

Culture: Double primroses appreciate a rich, damp soil in partial shade. They will need dividing every couple of years and regular feeding.
